Plywood Plank Flooring Thickness. Its designed to fit snugly between studs. The plywood plank flooring thickness we used is 1/2″ thick.
To prevent that subfloor from showing between the plank spaces we painted it with a really dark brown paint that had an eggshell finish. Floors that are easy on your wallet. May be installed over both concrete and wood subfloors.
The eggshell minimizes the shine if the sunlight happened to hit it.
Install a layer of at least ½” or preferably 5/8” ply over the existing planks. From 1/2 to 1 thickness. Look at the given solid hardwood flooring done with plywood planks, beautiful packed, spaced and glued together. There is very little difference in cost between 1/2″ thick and 3/4″ thick because you start with the same raw material when you make the flooring.
